Event Manager

United Fray is seeking a full-time Event Manager who wants to be part of a dynamic growing company that helps Make Fun Possible through sports, events, fitness, travel, and media.

The Event Manager will be responsible for growing the United Fray Events Division across multiple cities: spearheading our event creation, planning and execution efforts, managing and training part-time event staff and working in collaboration across multiple departments to help promote the events. You'll be tasked with planning and executing a plethora of original event concepts that are fun and engaging; concepts that people wouldn’t dream of missing.

From player parties to happy hours to field trips, to corporate contracted events and original United Fray event concepts, you’ll be operating as the lead event planning wizard. Some of the events you'll be orchestrating include...

You should have a minimum of 4 years of small to medium scale event planning experience (kudos if you have experience working in a fast-paced startup environment) and a desire to jump right into the trenches of an event planning world that requires you to conceptualize and plan (soup to nuts) events that achieve our various objectives.

You'll jump from marketing events to revenue driven events, as well as executing in-house events such as staff training meetings and staff appreciation outings. Each event has its own objectives, challenges, and opportunities and you need to be able to identify and work through them.

The Event Manager will:

  • Lead the growth of the United Fray Events Division across Washington, DC and two other active markets
  • Lead the planning & execution of special event planning geared toward our membership base as well as the general public, focused on increasing business revenue
  • Create P&L Statements for individual events
  • Manage the effective communication of attendees before and after events
  • Build and maintain relationships with event vendors from venues to service providers
  • Actively seek and work with Corporate partners to plan and execute private events for their organizations
  • Actively manage and train a group of part-time Event Squad Members
  • Work directly with the marketing, partnership, and executive leadership departments to strategically market new event concepts and manage the online & digital promotional strategy
  • Execute necessary paperwork for permitting and contracting venues for all events
  • Actively build out event process and procedures to establish the "way we do things" and create organization
  • Execute promotional events that increase brand awareness and drive brand and sales growth
  • Manage DC Fray’s Rentals Department
  • Assist with on-site social media capture and documentation of event festivities
  • Widening our demographic by creating new & additional opportunities to make fun possible

Requirements:

  • 6-8+ years planning & executing small to medium scale events
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • College degree or commensurate work experience
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and lift 25 lbs

COMPENSATION:

  • $55,000-$60,000 depending on your experience
