Assistant Sports Coordinator

Job Purpose & Description:
DC Fray Sports Coordinators work as a team to manage all aspects of our leagues and events. This includes but is not limited to field setup, supervision of refs, hosts & contractors, officiating of games, interacting with players, facilities and other league partners, creation of sports schedules, answering emails, updating websites, hosting activities and generally coordinating our leagues.
As an Assistant Sports Coordinator your role will be to act in support of all of these various items. Some of the areas you might touch on any given day could include league hosting, field crew, reffing, logistics coordination, customer service, admin/clerical duties, research, and marketing assistance. A good portion of this position will be focused on afternoon, evenings and weekend duties. You can expect to be at a desk often but will spend even more time out in the field making things happening!  Basically you're position is a jack-of-all-trades that will get to see how all of the pieces of the puzzle fit together!

Sports Coordinator Accountability & Scope of Responsibility:

  • Provides effective assistance with collaboration within sports coordination team to ensure player satisfaction, quality of service and cost management across all company activities;
  • ​Demonstrates positive can-do attitude and behavior that contributes to the collegiality and enjoyable company culture including the willingness to cross perform duties and take whatever action is needed to get the job done;
  • Ability to problem solve and create solutions to challenges. 

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, often hectic environment;
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor in a variety of environments and situations;
  • Handle multiple and shifting priorities;
  • Think critically and solve problems using the resources and information on hand;
  • Handle and resolve interpersonal conflict and tension in a variety of situations in a diplomatic and productive manner.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • Clean driving record and ability to safely operate company vehicles - previous driving record required;
  • High School Diploma, College degree or commensurate work experience preferred;
  • Ability to readily and repeatedly lift 25 lbs... with a smile!
  • Willingness & ability to work nights and weekends on rotating shifts;
  • Comfort in an extremely fast pace startup like environment.
